Not just 'Acres' - a whole 'world' full of YOUR Diamonds!

Among the classics (and I've got most of them) I've read and studied - and tried to practice - Acres of Diamonds stands heads above all the others . . . if your timing is right. If you are in need of someone pointing out the fact that YOUR diamonds are right where you are standing NOW. You just need to look a bit closer to yourself, your surroundings, your honest/true interests in life. The saying "Bloom Where You Are Planted" fits well here. I know. I am a product of Acres of Diamonds and proud to say 'Thank You' for being able to grasp and hold on to the teachings of this important, aged and proven writing. Don't have it yet? Don't think you need it? Come on into the real world and prove yourself worthy of what God created. Acres of Diamonds, if you make it a part of you, will give you the wisdom to achieve anything you seek.

Wonderful lecture and amazing man.

What a wonderful book. The ebook I downloaded from Amazon included a biography and an autobiographical text after the lecture upon which the title of this book was named. I think the scope and understanding of the lecture is incomplete without knowing who Dr. Conwell actually was. He is one of the most amazing men I've ever had the pleasure to read about and I chose to read this book on a whim, since it happened to be in the A section of my Kindle archives.
The negative reviews I've seen here [on Goodreads] about this book have it wrong. The lecture is one of hope and perseverance. It's one of 'bloom where you are planted' and of 'the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence'. It's not at all about the attainment of wealth at the expense of others because anyone who would be inspired by Dr. Conwell would know what a self-sacrificing and giving man he was and would never dare to disrespect or dishonor him by being greedy after being so blessed.

Not exciting..

Modern writing and language-usage styles are so very different to how people wrote 100 yrs. ago!
I managed to plough through about half of this book, but his almost-repetitive style of writing
amounts to 'padding' almost -and after two chapters or so
I got the overall message that one should look for opportunities right close to home
and not seek them in far-flung places. Message delivered.
This is no thriller, not even much of an inspirational book
-not today. Maybe it was, back in its time?
