only part of the story

It's terrific that this version of Bédier's retelling of the Tristan and Iseut legend is free. Yet, readers ought to know that Belloc did not include 4 of Bédier's original 19 chapters. These were not included in the translation until 1945 when a complete edition was completed by Paul Rosenfeld and published in New York by Pantheon Books.

An absolutely beautiful story. Bedier's prose is beautiful and captivating. A must read for anyone who enjoys Arthurian Romance or Shakespeare

A collection of romance stories as they would be told by a traveling bard.

This is a fun easy read. It has the same feel as the romance stories of Arthur and the Knights of Camelot. It is obvious that the stories are oral tradition set to paper. The stories are gripping and the historical context is fun.
